Types of Chemical Reactions:
Combustion Reactions
- These reactions involve an organic compound reacting with oxygen to form CO2 and H2O.
Single Replacement Reactions
- These involve the replacement of one part of a compound with another.
Double Replacement Reactions
- This is the same as single replacement reactions but with two elements being replaced.
Neutralization Reactions
- A special type of double replacement reaction where acids and bases are involved.
Synthesis Reactions
- This is when two elements form a compound.
Addition Reactions
- This is when two or more molecules form a bigger molecule.
- This is different from synthesis reactions because they involve elements while this one involves compounds.
Formation Reactions
- This is when elements in their normal state are combined.
Decomposition Reactions
- When a large molecule breaks into smaller molecules.
